My name is Amber and I am the face behind it all. My husband, Aaron, helps me out in the kitchen and contributes many of the recipes you find on the site. If it has bacon or a lot of spice, you can thank him. We have been married for over 12 years and have two amazing children. We have a passion for food and love cooking together. Sometimes during those busy days, chopping vegetables side by side for dinner is the best quality time we have that day with one another and we really enjoy the moment.
I started cooking when I was very young and I have very fond memories of being in the kitchen with my grandma making homemade blackberry pies or a delicious dinner from scratch. My own mother is a great cook and was always working hard on giving us kids a healthy meal every night of the week and I learned a lot about how to use very simple ingredients to make an incredible meal in less than 30 minutes from her. I want to share all of this with you. I think it is important to have the skills in the kitchen to be able to cook a nice meal and bring all your friends and family together to eat and bond and laugh.
My goal for Simply Made Recipes is to give beginner to intermediate level cooks the confidence to get in the kitchen to cook. The majority of the recipes you find here are simple and use a minimal amount of ingredients that are available at any grocer. You will also find some tips, tricks and nutritional information on ingredients we are using within each post from my years of being in the kitchen and my background as a nutritionist.
