January 27, 2020 by Amber 11 Comments

Air Fryer Honey Balsamic Brussels Sprouts are a simple and nutritious side dish made with fresh Brussels sprouts, balsamic vinegar, honey, olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper.

I am officially obsessed with my air fryer for cooking vegetables! The air fryer makes dinnertime so much easier and more convenient AND of course, delicious.  Brussels sprouts happens to be one of those foods that cooks perfectly in the air fryer and is a fantastic side dish for any dinner.

Brussels sprouts are one of those foods people tend to just love or hate but if cooked properly, you can turn a hater into a lover. I am one of those people that is picky about the preparation of this vegetable. I can’t go near a boiled Brussels sprout. This dish needs texture to be really good. Air Fryer Honey Balsamic Brussels Sprouts are tender inside with a crunchy outside. The flavor is a little bitter but also sweet and a tad nutty. The balsamic vinegar and honey adds to the sweetness. Salt is an important ingredient in this recipe to reduce the bitterness and also boost the sweetness.

Brussels Sprouts

Brussels sprouts are a green, leafy vegetable that are part of the cabbage family. While Brussels sprouts are seasonal to fall and winter, but most grocery stores will have them available fresh year round so it is a convenient food to make part of your families diet. Brussels sprouts are full of vitamin K, vitamin C and antioxidants making them a very healthy addition to your weekly grocery list!

Description

Air Fryer Honey Balsamic Brussels Sprouts are a simple and nutritious side dish made with fresh Brussels sprouts, balsamic vinegar, honey, olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh Brussels sprouts
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 Tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Trim the Brussels sprouts by cutting the ends of the stems and discard loose outer layer leaves.
  2. Chop Brussels sprouts in half.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, honey, balsamic vinegar and desired amount of salt and pepper. I like to be generous on the salt for this recipe.  Add Brussels sprouts and toss everything together.
  4. Place 2 Tablespoons of water in the bottom of your air fryer.
  5. Place Brussels sprouts into the air fryer basket.
  6. Place air fryer on 350 degrees and cook Brussels sprouts for 15 minutes flipping halfway between cooking.
  7. Serve.

I think the air fryer is a good investment. We use it more than the instant pot!

Brussel sprouts are my FAVORITE ever! I haven’t made them in the air fryer yet. I usually just roast them. Can’t wait to try this!
