Bloody Mary

September 15, 2021 by Amber 10 Comments

This Bloody Mary is a classic recipe made with V8 juice, vodka, celery salt, fresh ground pepper, hot sauce, Worcestershire  sauce and decorated with celery stalk, olives, pepperoncini in a Tajin rimmed glass.

Bloody Mary

Bloody Mary has a nice tomato base seasoned heavily with celery salt and spiced up with your favorite hot sauce for a nice kick. The perfect Sunday brunch pairing or cure for a killer hangover. Oh yes ,this concoction works wonders after a night out with friends and cocktails to bring you back to life.

Ingredients

  • Vodka, I like Tito’s
  • Tomato juice, homemade is ideal but V8 Original works
  • Celery salt
  • Freshly ground pepper, keep it very fine
  • Hot sauce of choice, I love Valentina
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Ice

Garnish ideas:

  • Olives, my favorite are the jalapeno stuffed olives
  • Celery stalk
  • Lime wedge
  • Tajin seasoning
  • Pepperoncini

Instructions

  1. Rim a hurricane glass with a lime wedge and dip into Tajin to coat well.
  2. Add the celery salt, freshly ground pepper, hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Add in shot of vodka. Stir.
  4. Add in celery stalk.
  5. Fill glass with ice.
  6. Top with tomato juice. Stir.
  7. Garnish with olives, pepperoncini and lime wedge.
  8. Enjoy!

“Can I Use Different Garnishes?”

You can absolutely use any garnishes you like in this Bloody Mary version. Keep it super simple with just a few of your favorite olives or go crazy with a full on meal inside your drink. You can use crispy bacon, candied bacon, pickled asparagus, pickle spears, cooked shrimp, lemon, tomatoes and so much more. I have even see people put fried chicken on top a Bloody Mary. So, get creative!

I’ve never actually had a bloody mary. Being from Canada, Caesars are more popular. I’ll have to try one now!
