Boozy Peanut Butter Root Beer Floats are made with peanut butter whiskey, root beer, a dash of sea salt and peanut butter swirl ice cream topped with a drizzle of creamy peanut butter and a chopped peanut garnish.
Root beer floats just have a way of taking you back to childhood. Well, this root beer float does that and more. This is the kind of root beer float you consume after a long week of work. Just sit back and indulge in something delicious (and alcoholic) that makes you think of the good ole days before adult responsibilities took over your life. Oh yes, I can faintly remember…
Boozy Peanut Butter Root Beer Floats
Boozy Peanut Butter Root Beer Floats are one of those drink combinations that you may be hesitant to try. Does peanut butter and root beer really go together? Yes, yes they do. The vanilla notes of the root beer pair perfectly with peanut butter and all the creaminess from the root beer and ice cream is heavenly. I do find this drink a bit sweet (I’m a salty over sweet person) so a pinch of sea salt balances this drink out and draws out more of the peanut flavor while cutting back that sweetness. Just perfect!
Peanut Butter Whiskey
There are a few different peanut butter whiskey brands out there now but I have been drinking Skrewball. It is smooth and just a really fun alcohol do create drinks with on the weekends hanging out with friends. If you have not tried peanut butter whiskey, it is worth a try!

Root Beer
Any root beer will work. Pick your favorite. If you will be creating these drinks with friends, figure each drink will use half a bottle of root beer so you can calculate how much root beer you may need easily.
Ice Cream
I found a Dreyer’s Peanut Butter Swirl Ice Cream but any peanut butter ice cream will work. I would however try and stay away from the ice creams with chunks of chocolate also going on. Go for peanut butter, just peanut butter. If you cannot find peanut butter ice cream, vanilla can be used but the drink won’t have quite the peanut butter kick to it.

This reminds me of butterbeer, but I’ve never had peanut butter and root beer together. I will have to give this a try, I love both things, so it can’t be bad right.
