Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

October 3, 2016 by Amber 4 Comments

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread is a classic banana bread recipe made with overripe bananas, butter, eggs, flour and other basic baking ingredients and chocolate chips.

I love waking up in the morning to a warm mug of coffee and a slice of something sweet. Chocolate Chip Banana Bread gives me that little chocolate deliciousness that has a way of boosting my mood and getting me mentally ready for the day ahead. My favorite way to way to eat a slice of this bread is slightly warm with a little bit of butter spread over the top.

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread is a moist bread with a pleasant amount of banana flavor and buttery goodness popping through. The chocolate chips add that nice touch of sweetness. This is a great recipe to use up extra bananas that is tasty and easily mixed in just one bowl.

Tips & Tricks

Oil Vs. Butter

Personally, I like using butter in this recipe because it adds that nice buttery note in every bite. Oil also works well. To substitute butter with oil, simply reduce the amount needed to about 3/4. So, 3/4 of half a cup is about 6 Tablespoons. Also try applesauce as a great replacement to butter!

Bananas

Those overripe, mushy, almost black on the outside kind of bananas work best for this recipe. First off, they mash super easily so you can get a nice consistency of banana flavor throughout the bread. Overripe bananas are also rich in antioxidants which is good for your health!

Love having different banana bread recipes. My favourite is pear and raspberry bread and I recently made a banana, raspberry and coconut bread so will definitely give this one a try.
