Fall Off the Bone Crockpot Cola Ribs
Fall Off the Bone Crockpot Cola Ribs are so ridiculously easy with limited ingredients and tossed in the slow cooker. Great for busy days anytime of year. Serve with mashed potatoes, green beans or baked beans on the side for a great family meal.
Fall Off the Bone Crockpot Cola Ribs are one of those recipes where everyone in the family is begging for more… no matter how much I make, it never seems to be enough. It is just that good. Ribs can be on the spendy side when feeding a family. I always look for sales and freeze multiple racks for later use. You can freeze baby back ribs for about 4 months, although they never last that long.
These ribs fall of the bone, hence the name. I had the hardest time getting photos because of it. They really do fall apart and the bone comes off completely clean. Certain types of ribs, my 2 year old has had a time chewing but these will melt in the mouth and she eats them up no problem.
Notice that I wait to put BBQ sauce until after cooking. You can place BBQ sauce into the crockpot while cooking but I find it is sort of useless. Let the ribs cook and marinate in the cola all day and bring in the BBQ flavoring you like when serving.

Can you cook on high for shorter time? Have you ever tried this?
I haven’t done this but you can try it out- it may not be AS tender but will cook up just fine.
Does it effect them if you do not turn them over half way through?
It could dry what is out of the liquid a little if cooked too long.
Hello
Approximately how many people does this recipe serve?
Carla
Hi Carla. Should feed 4 people.
Boneless ribs/country ribs taste great too.
Does this recipe work with beef short ribs?
Hey Kristin, I have not tried it but I would think so! Let me know if you try it out and let me know what you thought.
Forgot to defrost my ribs. Do you think I can use frozen ribs?
I honestly haven’t tried it. I would think so or you can defrost them in the sink with water possibly. Or even pop them in the microwave to defrost. I would just worry the cola wouldn’t marinate how you would like if they are frozen but I don’t see why it wouldn’t still turn out. If frozen, add a bit of cook time too.
I don’t think you can put frozen stuff in the crockpot, it can cause bacteria to grow since they will not reach cooking temperature for a very long time. Get a pressure cooker if you want to be able to cook things from their frozen state.
yea, I have heard conflicting opinions on frozen meat in the crockpot. I looked it up from the manufacturer for Crock-pot out of curiosity and they say it is safe. http://www.crock-pot.com/service-and-support/product-support/product-faqs/ingredient-hints-and-tips/ingredient-hints-and-tips-faq.html?faq=frozen-foods-hint-tip-faq
However, I personally never cook frozen meats and there are many sources that say it is not safe…. its easy to just pop the frozen meat into fridge a day or two ahead of time to defrost so I’m not sure there is a clear answer on this one! I guess do whatever you are comfortable with.
I have made this twice now and they are delicious! Looking forward to making them again tomorrow!
That’s awesome Rae. They are so easy to throw together!
I’m making these today! For the first time. I can’t wait to taste the end result. I’m going to save the BBQ sauce until the end, too. Wish me luck. Cindy Redmond
Hope they turned out great Cindy! Check back and let me know. ?
Can u use boneless ribs?!
I haven’t tried it out but I don’t see why not! Let me know how it goes if you use the boneless.
