Summer is just around the corner! Finally! I feel like this past winter dragged on forever…. maybe because it was still snowing in April. Needless to say that I am beyond ready for some warm weather and cocktails by the pool.
Honey Jalapeño Whiskey Lemonade
Honey Jalapeño Whiskey Lemonade is very refreshing and easy to drink. The Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey Whiskey sets the foundation for this drink with that sweet honey flavor. Lemonade adds a bit of sour to balance the drink so it isn’t overly sweet. My favorite part of this drink though is the added jalapeño. I really enjoy a little spice to a drink and below you will find instructions on how to adjust that spice level to your likeness so it can be a subtle jalapeño flavoring or a POW (I’m going need to chug some water after this) type of drink.
Step 1
Slice a lemon. Rim a highball glass with a lemon slice/wedge and dip into some tajin to coat rim of glass.
Step 2
I will begin with the instructions on a very subtle jalapeño flavoring. Even if you do not necessarily enjoy spicy food or beverage, this method will give you just a hint of that spice.
Slice a jalapeño and add 3-5 slices into a highball glass. Now, muddle the jalapeño to squeeze out some of its juices. A muddler is a tool used to basically squish down herbs or fruits in a cocktail to release the flavors. Scroll down post to see how to infuse jalapeño into the whiskey for a spicier drink.
Step 3
Add a few lemon slices and fill glass with ice. Add 2 ounces of Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey.
Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey
Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey Whiskey is a flavored whiskey. I enjoy it on the rocks because it is really smooth and has a great honey flavor that makes it go down nice and easy while being delightful in taste. This whiskey is not just good on its own. You can also make some delicious mixed drinks with it to pull out that honey flavor.
Step 4
Fill glass with lemonade. Garnish with a lemon slice or wedge. Enjoy!
Give it some spice!
The best way to add a punch of spice is to infuse your liquor. Slice up half a jalapeño and place in a glass jar. You can also add in the stem. Then pour in desired amount of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey. I just used enough to create two drinks. Seal and let sit for 6-24 hours. The longer the jalapeño infuses with liquor, the spicier it will be. Personally, 6 hours is just right for my taste but infusing an entire 24 hours will give a big kick if that is your preference.
