Kale and Pineapple Smoothie

January 14, 2022 by Amber 8 Comments

Kale and Pineapple Smoothie is a simple, feel good smoothie made with fresh kale, pineapple chunks, banana and almond milk topped with dried cranberry seeds.

It is that time of year to kick those bad holiday eating habits and get back on track with taking better care of our minds and bodies. Eating is a big part of this and starting the day off right with a good, nutrient dense smoothie is one of those habits that helps me feel better and is great motivation to continue healthy eating throughout the remainder of the day.

Kale and Pineapple Smoothie

Kale and Pineapple Smoothie has a fresh flavor with a base of kale but is sweetened a lot with the addition of pineapple. Banana helps thicken the smoothie and milk makes it creamy. A nice drink to enjoy for breakfast or lunch that is nutrient dense and delicious.

The Ingredients

Kale

This low calorie, nutrient dense vegetable is loaded with vitamins and minerals. Among the many benefits are eating kale, the one that stands out to me the most is are the cancer fighting components that may help prevent cancer.

Pineapple

Pineapple adds more than sweetness is this smoothie. Pineapple is also full of vitamin C which helps your immune system to stay healthy.

Banana

Another ingredient that has many benefits to eating regularly like being high in fiber to help you feel longer and reduce bloating.

Almond Milk

Any type of milk can be used in this smoothie. I personally love almond milk because it has a nice flavor, is dairy free and is loaded with vitamin E which is beneficial to the skin (for starters).

Cranberry Seeds

The use of cranberry seeds is somewhat new to me. They are a powerful antioxidant that are pretty flavorless but can be added to tons of different foods like smoothies or salads.

This sounds like a great smoothie I would just have to substitute spinach instead of kale since I have a dietary intolerance to kale.

I know! I don’t love pineapple on its own but it tastes so good in a smoothie.
