Salted Caramel Baileys White Russian

December 27, 2020 by Amber 7 Comments

Salted Caramel Baileys White Russian is a delicious cocktail made with salted caramel sauce, sea salt, vodka, coffee liqueur, half ‘n’ half and Bailey’s Salted Caramel served on ice.

I wanted to create a great cocktail to serve to friends this New Years Eve so I put a spin on one of my favorite classic cocktails : the White Russian. A classic White Russian has vodka, coffee liqueur and cream. Today, I also added the element of salted caramel with Bailey’s Salted Caramel Irish cream liqueur as part of that cream layer to give this drink a little something special… basically making it like a mudslide on the rocks. I had an internal battle with myself over if this was a White Russian or a Mudslide but settled on a Bailey’s White Russian. You could call it either. I don’t think it matters. It’s delicious and that’s all there is to it. And..  I KNOW this one will be hit to celebrate NYE! Bring on 2021!

Salted Caramel Baileys White Russian

The Salted Caramel Baileys White Russian is a strong drink that goes down easy. Tastes of a creamy coffee with the perfect sweet caramel accent. A touch of sea salt is added to balance the sweetness from that caramel and also the sweet liqueurs. Balanced, simple to make and just plain good!

Begin with a drizzle of salted caramel sauce in a lowball glass. Fill with ice and add just a pinch of sea salt.

Next, add a shot of vodka. Pick your favorite. I personally love Tito’s because it is affordable and smooth making it a great liquor for all sorts of mixed drinks. If you want to go for an extra caramel boost, try some caramel vodka. Pinnacle and Smirnoff both make a caramel vodka that are easy to find.

Then add a shot of coffee liqueur followed by a shot of Bailey’s Salted Caramel Irish cream liqueur. This is what gives this drink all the wonderful flavor!

“Do I have to use Bailey’s Salted Caramel?”

I really recommend finding Bailey’s Salted Caramel. I found mine at Meijer. If you cannot find it, regular Bailey’s Irish cream can work. If using regular Bailey’s, I would get a caramel vodka to ensure the drink has that nice caramel flavor we are shooting for.

Top off with some half ‘n’ half to make the drink extra creamy and dreamy. Stir and top with a caramel candy to garnish.
