Spicy Buffalo Honey Mustard Ham and Cheese Croissant

October 30, 2016 by Amber 20 Comments

Spicy Buffalo Honey Mustard Ham and Cheese Croissant is a great lunch recipe made with fresh croissants, deli sliced ham, pepper jack cheese and a spicy buffalo honey mustard baked with some butter and poppy seeds or sesame seeds over top.

Lunchtime really is the hardest part of the day for me as far as coming up with lunch ideas I will actually enjoy eating! Lunch needs to be convenient and affordable but I don’t want anything boring either. I am a foodie- I need a happy palate and satisfied stomach to get me through the day. This Spicy Buffalo Honey Mustard Ham and Cheese Croissant hits all the marks on what I need from my lunches. Bonus that my kids also completely devour these. My son ate three after I took these photos. Yea, feeding a preteen boy is ridiculous.

Spicy Buffalo Honey Mustard Ham and Cheese Croissant

Spicy Buffalo Honey Mustard Ham and Cheese Croissants have a nice flaky outside that is buttery and delightful with a slightly salty center with the thinly sliced ham. Pepper jack cheese and buffalo honey mustard sauce add a nice kick of flavor!

Spicy Buffalo Honey Mustard

Spicy Buffalo Honey Mustard is a sauce that can go with more than just some lunch croissants so go ahead and mix up a big batch! Honey mustard, barbecue sauce and buffalo sauce are quickly whisked together for a smoky-tangy-kind of spicy punch of flavor to drizzle, dip or spread on foods to make your meal more delicious. Try it on a hamburger, drizzle over a salad, dip some chicken tenders in it… it really is a sauce for multiple uses.

Alternative Prep Instructions

Before being a stay at home mom, I worked in a hospital with the type of schedule that didn’t always allow for an actual lunch time. I had to just sort of shove food in my mouth between patients when possible so I know that some of you need really quick lunch ideas that are easy but still taste good. You do not have to bake these croissants! Prepare the sandwich the night before by cutting open a croissant, add some spicy buffalo honey mustard and stack with ham slices and some cheese. Wrap the croissant up and then pop in the microwave for about 30 seconds to heat up when you are hungry.
