Strawberry Hot Chocolate Bombs are a fun treat made with white chocolate, mini marshmallows, strawberry powder and festive sprinkles that burst in hot milk!
You may have noticed Hot Chocolate Bombs are the rage right now. They are everywhere and I’m not mad about it. Hot Chocolate Bombs are little spheres of chocolate with delicious goodies in the middle. When added to hot milk, the chocolate melts and releases all those inside goodies into the milk creating hot chocolate. So decadent, cozy and just plain fun!

Strawberry Hot Chocolate Bombs
These Strawberry Hot Chocolate Bombs are perfect for Valentine’s Day with the pink color and heart shaped sprinkles. You can certainly twist this recipe to fit any occasion. Switch up the sprinkles, try a milk chocolate outer shell, use a cocoa mix instead of strawberry powder…. there are so many combinations for Hot Chocolate Bombs so don’t be afraid to use your creative side! I have also found that this is a great recipe to make with kids. Mine love making the chocolate spheres and stuffing them with all the goodies. Of course, they also have a blast watching the bombs burst in milk releasing the marshmallows to the top of the mug and coloring the milk.
What You Need
- Half Sphere Silicone Baking Mold
- White Chocolate Melting Wafers, I used the Vanilla today
- Pink Candy Melts
- Nesquik Strawberry Powder
- Sprinkles
- Mini Marshmallows, or Dehydrated Mini Marshmallows
- Milk
- Small ceramic plate
- Spoon
Process
Start with the Half Sphere Chocolate Molds. The medium-sized, 2 1/2 inch diameter mold are the perfect size. Melt the White Chocolate Wafers in 30 second intervals, stirring between until completely melted. Pour the melted chocolate in even portions into each sphere mold. Use the back of a spoon to manipulated the melted chocolate up the sides. Place the molds in the freezer for 20 minutes to set up before continuing to next step.
Tip
Save a few chocolate wafers just in case you need to fix a little break when removing spheres from the molds.
Carefully release the chocolate from each mold leaving you with 12 half spheres. Set up a working station with your spheres, strawberry powder, sprinkles, mini marshmallows and a hot plate. For your hot plate, microwave a ceramic plate for a minute or until it almost too hot to touch. Be careful!
Assemble
Work quickly to assemble each mold into a nice round sphere with all the delicious goodies inside.
- Place a half sphere onto the hot plate to even out the edge.
- Add 2 Tablespoons strawberry powder, some sprinkles and 5-6 mini marshmallows inside the half sphere.
- Grab another half sphere and place it on the hot plate until it is even and slightly melty. Put the two half spheres together.
- Repeat until all 6 spheres are complete.
Tip
A little bit of chocolate will melt off onto the hot plate. If needed, you can dip your finger in this chocolate and place it where needed to get a better seal when creating the spheres.
Finishing Touch
Finish off each sphere with a little decoration. Melt down some pink candy melts and drizzle over each sphere. Immediately add a pinch of sprinkles to each.
Milk
You can use whatever milk you want with these Strawberry Hot Chocolate Bombs. Almond, 2%… whole milk. Once the bombs are complete, add one to a mug and then slowly pour over 8 ounces of hot milk. Stir before consuming. The easiest way to heat up milk is placing it in a pot on the stovetop and bringing to a simmer, stirring often.
