Turkey and Gouda Panini is a quick and tasty hot sandwich recipe made with sourdough bread, Roma tomatoes, deli meat, mayonnaise, pesto and melty gouda cheese.
Sandwiches are a lunch staple in my family. It is one of those meals that we all love and actually agree on and we don’t agree on much as far as food goes. To be fair, I do live with a four year old and she has a palate of… well, the average four year old. Sandwiches have so many possibilities and bonus that they are crazy easy to put together!
What’s A Panini?
A panini is a sandwich that has been toasted. Typically made with a small loaf of Italian bread, cheese and meat. Toasting the bread is what makes the panini so special and adding the right combination of ingredients gives it that pizazz.
Turkey and Gouda Panini
Turkey and Gouda Panini has this crunchy outside layer with a wonderful freshness from tomatoes and pesto inside. Gouda cheese adds a lovely richness and a nutty tone that is absolutely mouth watering! Don’t make another boring sandwich, indulge in this Turkey and Gouda Panini.
Process
Gather all your ingredients and a panini press.
Spread desired amount of pesto on one slice of bread and mayonnaise on the other. Pesto goes a long way so just a little is needed.
Add some turkey slices, fresh tomato slices and the cheese. Close up the sandwich and butter the outside just like you would for a grilled cheese. Place into the panini press and let cook until the bread is golden brown. My panini press is ready in about 4 minutes but this time could differ slightly depending on panini press used.
No Panini Press?
No panini press? No problem. Follow the instructions below and instead of placing your sandwich into a panini press, cook it on the stovetop in a hot pan. Cook each side for about 3 minutes or until golden brown. Serve immediately.

I love that you’ve added tomatoes to the sandwich. I think more grilled sandwiches should include tomatoes.
